A diversely influenced collection in a rhythmically charged direction featuring the serene voices of montreal-based vocal powerhouses Odile Myrtil & Mind Bath. 'Burning Up' is far more drum machine driven and dance floor considerate than previous Boha releases which puts the sound in a welcome new light. The first half of the EP is rather unabashed in pursuing this direction while the second half offers more space and silence. "Blankness" in particular is a nine minute emotional meditation, an introspective flood of sound. There is an intensity in these songs, a feverous drive that keeps the vibe feeling pressing and the sound in motion. The impact of the voices on this record cannot be overlooked, their presence has clearly influenced the sound into a more energetic and lively context.
